Re: Picked the wrong day to put the mast up

I used to live on my power boat every summer at Three Mile Harbor, East Hampton and would often have to tie off some rag hangers halyards so I could get some sleep. I always tie off my halyards now as a matter of course. As for lightning and we do get our share in the Gulf of Thailand, especially th...

Re: Using boarding ladder as towbar

Some great towing ideas there gentlemen. For sking I like the idea of tieing to Aft cleat and then routing line thru the end of the horizontal ladder. Looks like I have a little fabricating to do, although sking is not why I bought the boat. I'm determined to get the kid to enjoy sailing, probably a...

Re: Using boarding ladder as towbar

Hmmmm, I wonder if would be too much strain to tow a skier using the ladder to attach the ski tow line? Kids home from University. Sailing put them to sleep. Rigged a line between the two Aft cleats and attached tow line for sking to that as it just so happened the kids had brought a wake board alon...

Re: New prop and she really moves.

I am currently trying to work out the proper prop for my 2006 26M with a 50HP four stroke Yamaha. When I bought the boat it had a 3x14x11 prop and only gets a max of 4600 rpm and about 13.5 knots. I just changed to a 3x13-5/8x13 which came with the boat s a spare and will see if I can get my rpm and...

Re: first time owner of a sailboat

Welcome to sailing. Like someone said earlier, "I can't imagine someone NOT liking to sail. Last February I bought a 2006 26M which was used for Charter and was in need of some TLC. Nothing serious, but a severe cleaning and replacing of some standing rigging and some running rigging. I spent 1...

Re: Mac Spinnaker Knock Down

Thanks for the input Geoff I just got off the phone with Toby at Kelly Hansen Marine and he suggested that I can fly the Spinnaker by running the Tack line UNDER the anchor pully and the Sheet Lines through the Channel Track Trollies/Pullies at the Aft Port and Starboard Channel Tracks and then to t...

Re: Mac Spinnaker Knock Down

Great Vids On the subject of spinnakers I have a question or two. I have a 26M and the Doyle spinnaker as shown in these vids came with the boat when I bought it this past February, but no lines or hardware. The Mac Homepage says no additional hardware is necessary to fly the Spinnaker, but it sure ...

Re: What is your boat's history?

That's a great story. You may have paid too much, but you brought a cool boat back from the brink of being in a landfill somewhere....good Karma. Hope you get many many years of great sailing from her. It may be appropriate to paint a BIG smile on the bow.

Re: new to forum

Hello and thanks for the welcome I'll get some photos in the near future. That photo you posted is almost the exact view from my condo here. Only my condo is on the 14th floor, much lower then the posted photo, but that exact view at that exact angle....spooky. I'll post a photo of my Condo view in ...

correct prop for 26M

Hello I have a 2006 26M with a 2006 50HP Yamaha 4-stroke. I know weight is an consideration with prop choice, but considering it is common to have a 400 pound difference in weight depending on number passengers on board, I figure if someone has same boat, same engine the prop they are using would be...

Re: new to forum

Thanks for the welcome. I will check the auto checkin box. Anything but cool in Thailand. It's either HOT and wet or HOT and dry, those are the two seasons, but there's usually a breeze to go sailin, so I'm not complaining. BTW you're up bright and early!

new to forum

Hello and Ahoy all Let me introduce myself. Name's Jeff. I'm retired to The Gulf of Thailand from USA. Bought a 2006 :macm: this past February with a 2006 50HP Yamaha 4 stroke. I just moved the boat from a remote storage where I had to tow and set up mast and rigging each time to storage by the laun...
