Re: Sea of Cortez

Look up the Tucson sailing club web site, they go as a group twice a year. I think it's may and november.
sometimes as long as 3 to 4 weeks. From their pictures it looks like they have a great time.
I hope to join their cruise next year, pending retirement.

Re: Buying my first sailboat, going to be new

Try Paul in Utah, I have purchased 2 new mac from him over the last 6 years, last one a 2006.
He even let me pick it up from the factory, and saved me a bundle.

Re: Powerwashing the Hull

I have taken my 26M to the car wash, and used the high pressure sprayer, and the foamy scrub brush,
no problems from it, but still leaves a brown scum. After it dries off for a day or two, I use Starbright Hull cleaner,
works great

Re: First Winter with my new Mac.

I have an 06 M26, and I take it out of the water (Lake Tahoe ) in the winter anyway.
but If it's getting cpld enough to freeze around the boat, empty it. Pump it, or open drain
and run it over 5mph till it's empty. IMHO

Re: gps and dingy suggestions?

I have the 727c hummingbird, with GPS, depth, speed, temp., plotting/tracking, all seem to work well.
for a dingy, be sure to look at SeaEagle, I just bought their inflatable pontoon, w/ sail.
looks like it's good stuff.

Re: HIFIELD LEVERS

I have found the quick release levers at several places, but where do you find a jib hound?
( I want to install it above the original) for a M26?

Re: I have blisters - thousands of them

I have the same football texture hull on my 06, I discovered it oct 07, my Mac was in Lake Tahoe for 6 months. (one of the cleanest lakes in the country) I had thought it was caused by the "starbright" I had used to clean the bottom. But I see many of you seem to have the same problem. I r...

mast raising

Here's a problem I have, The baby stays on the mast raising system, never seem to be tight enough and the mast drifts side to side a little while raising or lowering. would a pair of adjustable ratchett tie downs work?

What?

What year is your Mac.? How hard has it been used?
If the hardware is in good condition, sails still good, let it alone.
Dose your motor run, what is it?
