lifting boat

Does anyone have e method of lifting a 26X off of the trailer to facilitate cleaning and painting. Is there anything mounted on the hull that you can use as a lift ring? [email protected]

centerboard access port

I am almost afraid to broach this subject lest you think that the village idiot has bought a sailboat. As I study the elevation drawing of my 26X, it appears that the top of the centerboard is above the water line while at rest. I have often have problems getting my centerboard down. Would it be pos...

sail sluigs

If, as you say, the 26X doesn't come out with sail slugs, what do they use? Is the Doyle mainsail an aftermarket item?

depth finder power

I guess my quest betrayed my ignorance. One needs the depth finder on while underway, and hopefully most of that will be done sans engine!! So it follows that you don't want it hooked into the engine circuitry. Thanks for setting me straight.

depth finder

Thanks for your reply. I havent even looked into the pedestal yet. I have just been fishing for help. If the accessory wire turns out to be the solution I will be very grateful.

power source for depyh finder

I want to connect my depth finder into my Mercury 50hp circuitry so that it comes on and off with the engine. Is this possible? I don't like the idea of stringing wires to tbe battery and putting in a seperate switch. Dealers won't talk to me. They want me to bring it in. This is not possible gtquie...

I bent the mast on my 26X on a power line. It had a 9" deflection from plumb. I cut two blocks the shape of the mast, set it up on concrete blocks and judiciously applied weight. It isn't noticeable and seems to work fine. I used heat to straighten the stays but be VERY Careful with the heat. I...

Has anyone tried to use the existing "lamp cord" that Macgregor used to go from the battery to the panel, to pull new wires up to the little panel or otherwise modify a very unsatisfactory arrangement. The wires behind the panel are too short to get behind the panel without pulling connect...

your preventative work sounds great. I will do it this fall. In the meantime, do you know of a way to kick it down from inside? From the looks of the drawings, the raising lanyard it all the way forward. I can't see how putting a rod down through the hole and thumping it would help. I sure don't rel...
