Re: Help deciding on upgrading GPS / Sonar
Thanks for reply. I am looking at the Humminbird Helix series 7 or 5 and am trying to decide about Si (side scan) and Di (down scan) models if I need that. Looking for model unit with Nav+ card so the maps won't cost so much. The models I am considering are ..... Helix 5 Si/GPS or Helix 5 Di/GPS or ...

Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
"Serenity Wins" is now offically registered, just got offical papers back from Ottawa. The Admiral got 3 coats of Carnuba wax on her after 3 containers of deoxidizing 3m rubbing compound. She looks like new. I added 12v pump for running water and built some really cool puck board gas compa...

Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
Hi I got the first coat of interProtect 2000e on. Washed and wiped down hull with 202 first and taped off waterline. The bottom is now grey. (Next coat white) It was a real piece of work to get up into centre board trunk! Hopefully with putting on 4 or 5 coats all will get covered. Just a note .... ...

Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
Well epoxy and bottom paint finally arrived. Can't wait to get started. While I waited I scrapped and sanded the fiberglass entry and hatch slides. They were badly oxidized. Can anyone tell me if I can or should paint them with interprotect epoxy or just put wax on them? They cleaned up really nice ...

Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
Well I got the boat up on the blocks I built.... back, middle and front. I used the trailer method to lever the boat onto the blocking. It worked great. I had quite the time getting the center board bolt to release but finally it did. I noticed the line was starting to frey so it is good I am doing ...

Re: New Member need info on bottom painting and prep
Well I started the sanding process and found out the the dimples appear to be blemishes on the gelcoat. They sand down to smooth with no impact into the gelcoat. I am using a 150 grit paper on a 6" orbital. Working great. Now I have to build stands to support the boat.
Thx for all the good info.

Just wandering what you are using for your wind speed indicator. I want to add one but don't know which one. Please give me some advice.
