Re: Corsswinds and docking

I second, and third, and fourth what Nice Aft said. I tie on my "Ray Lines" (named after a former Blue Water Yachts employee who taught everyone to do this) at the beginning of sailing season, and they come off for the winter. SO HANDY! They also double has my bow spring line when docking.

showering on a Mac

Hey all, I'm wondering if any of you have figured out an easy method to use a solar shower while on your Mac. I have a 1999 X, and I haven't figured out a method that works well. The best would be hoisting it on a jib halyard, but I have a furler, so no jib halyard. So far I've tried hoisting it on ...

Re: New MOB item

My solution to a polar bear attack is to always walk or swim with someone who is slower than me.

Re: Storage box for left front storage area of 26X?

The bottoms are around 11 inches by 11 inches. They are about 12 inches deep. They slowly flare out, so the top is around 14 by 14 inches. I've included a picture next to a pair of my size 10 shoes to give you some scale. Note: if you purchase them, avoid the white coloured ones. Something in the dy...

I use these:

They fit into all of the larger openings in the Mac benches.

Re: replacing my windex . . . with something a little better?

Russ: that's the type of windex that I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Do you know the model number? Does the kit include the "pinch style" mount?

replacing my windex . . . with something a little better?

The windex that came with my 1999 X has (thankfully) given up the ghost. It was always a frustrating affair. To insert it, I would slide it into a mount while standing with one foot on my motor and one foot on the back of the helm seat, leaning forward almost to the point of face-planting on the pav...

Re: I'm on the struggle-boat

Although I have a fancy bailing pump on board, I've found that these from the Dollar Store work very well: https://www.dollartree.com/h2o-blasters-plastic-water-squirters-26-in/252267 The pointy end lets me get into corners much better than any standard bailing pump. I keep one on my dinghy and one ...

Re: New to forum.

Welcome to the forum! Blue Water Yachts (the source of all parts Mac related) sells a kit of quick release pins: https://shop.bwyachts.com/product-p/3459-1v0.htm I have several of the mast base quick pins. They get used to pin my mast on the base (obviously), as well as to pin the mast into the mast...

Re: Raising mast on ramp?

I would agree with the comments above. I would also add that there is a far greater likelihood of tripping or falling off the boat if the boat is tilted backwards at an angle. You'll also find it nearly impossible to pin the forestay. An option not mentioned above: contact the owner of the ramp and ...

(But given the propensity for Scott’s to get together we could get a really interesting collection of people together in kilts looking for a good caber toss, hammer throw, and stone put, along with Highland dancing, bagpipe music, and ….. well ya’ll get the idea. :D ) Best Regards, Over Easy 8) 8) ...
