Re: Macgregor 19 search
Mac19s are even rarer in Europe. When I sold mine in the UK it was taken to Italy by a dealer for resale! I had a couple of emails from the new owner somewhere on the Italian Riviera.

Bye Bye all
Well Pacamac, my :mac19: , has now been sold and has been taken 1200 miles over the Alps by its new owner to Italy to sail the waters of the Italian Lakes. Mmmm, nice. We've had a good three + years with Pacamac, some good days and some bad, but it's my wife's apprehension about going to sea out of ...

Re: Used the winch to pull the Mac off the trailer.
It's bolted on the transom just like other outboards of that size! Same as a 26X or 26M.
The 19 was designed for a 40HP.

Re: Used the winch to pull the Mac off the trailer.
I kept my Mac19 at yard which had a very shallow gradient ramp (if we had realised this sooner we may have searched for a better locaion). The only way we could launch and recover efficiently was to back down the ramp, unhitch the trailer, fit a tow rope and them reconnect to the towbar with the rop...

Re: Long spring towing precautions
I always carry a spare wheel, wheel nut brace/wrench (usually a different size to the car), spare set of bearings, water-resistant bearing grease plus grease gun and of course something to lift the trailer to change the wheel......called a jack in the UK but this seems to cause the the North America...

About time we properly joined Europe and got rid of GBP! Make life a lot easier for all of us. I assume you don't have the original owners tool kit that probably came with the engine?

Re: Mast Raiser, Gin Pole
Exactly, couldn't have put it better myself. I've had enough trouble with a trailer winch on the trailer without using one where all may come crashing down on my head! Best to keep it simple and all you need is the gin pole, a pair of baby stays and the main sheet. Oh... and a wife to keep an eye on...

Re: center board position on trailer
The centreboard on my :mac19: was found to be jammed fast by a piece of driftwood caught up beside the board. I did manage to move the board a couple of times before I realised what was going on and it took a couple of hours of picking away at it and eventually splitting it with a saw before I could...

Re: Removing the stanchions
Get a couple of smaller diameter wheels to use temporarily when storing the boat. My Mac19 has 12" wheels and this allows the Mac to get into my garage with 1" to spare under the door. The 12" wheels I have fit over my 10" brake drums that I believe are standard to all Mac traile...
