I'm having the same problem, but my boat is a 2005. It's very squirley and doesn't hold a straight line while motoring. Even worse at slow speeds. I tried motoring with the ruuders and dagger board fully down, but still the boat doesn't like to hold a straight line. What's going on? Is anyone else h...

Hi Mtc... Thanks for bringing this thread back from the past and congratulations on the purchase of your new boat too. My M is scheduled for delivery on April 18 and if all goes well we'll be sailing on that date too. After much deliberation I finally chose to go with Tohatsu's 70 hp TLDI. Some will...

How do you get fido back on board
My new Mac comes in a few weeks and I was wondering about pet boarding.
I have a large dog, 110 lbs, who loves to swim.
When away from shore has anyone come up with a creative way of getting a large dog back on board after he's been swimming.

Hey I like this idea.... If any of you are ever in the Rochester, NY area and would like to sail on Lake Ontario send me an email with your number. I'd be happy to share my M with people from this site. In fact, I wonder if there's any other Mac owners who'd like to consider sailing their boat on La...

will a 22" wheel fit in the M's cockpit
A while back there was a lot of talk about how wonderful the 22" wheel was on the x. I'm wondering if the M's cockpit can accommodate the same size wheel. Has anyone tried this yet?

I own a small trucking company and use these on all of my vehicles. http://www.gpsonsale.com/vehicletrackingdevices/index.htm Best investment I ever made... but for the purposes of a boat and with an external antenna (which will look like any other gps antenna) you can install a locating gps unit hi...

Dimitri, No worries. You and Duane sure make for interesting side conversation, but thank you for your consideration. Speaking of prop size... What size are you running on your Big Foot. Tohatsu has two props available that I think would work quite nicely with the M26. 13.6 x 12.4 and 14 x 9.4 Accor...

Wow... So many responses and a lot of conversation and I do appreciate everyone's input, but we sort of deviated from my question and so far there doesn't seem to be a clear winner... I mean answer. :D There is however a lot of talk about the the merits of the 90 hp and the planing ability of the Ma...

I appreciate your opinion Duane and I would like to hear the opinion of others too. Since I last posted I talked with the motor dealer again and got them to lower their price once more. Now the difference between the used Big Foot vs the new TLDI is $1150.00 and the TLDI offers a four year warranty ...

Hi Moe... You're right. I did make a mistake about the weight. The TLDI is 50 pounds heavier. As for the Big Foot it does have EFI and I'm not in a high elevation. However, I still don't know which motor would offer better performance on the M. You also make a good point about the warranty for the T...

Question: Big foot 60 four stroke vs Tohatsu 70 Tldi
My boat will be delivered in the Spring of 2005. Of the two motors Big foot 60 four stroke and Tohatsu 70 Tldi which one would be a better choice for my 05 26M. I can get a used, low hours fresh water 2002 Big Foot 60 delivered with all controls and prop for $4000.00 or I can get a brand new Tohatsu...
