MacGregor Owners in Sydney, Australia
Hi, I'm still very new to this board, in fact, I don't even have my Mac yet - I'll hopefully get her in January.
I was wondering if there are many Mac owners in and around Sydney and whether there's an owners club.
Cheers,
Gary

G'day Gary
Don't know if there is an owners club but there is a regatta each year in part organised by Phillip King the Australian dealer, as you are new would definitely recommend it.
Think you can still turn up if you are not a customer but Phillip will ply you with cocktails and let your anchor loose (only kidding)
There are a few mac owners on trailersailerplace.com.au but this site here would be the best place to get Mac specific info.
We are in the Riverina but there are a few near Port Macquarie.

Any updates on your boat's arrival into Australia yet.
My wife and I are currently into the reasearch part of bringing our own baot into Australia, we are in talks with a Logistics Company we do work for about the shipping and a Customs/Forwarding Company that they deal with about the load/unload part. If everything works out OK and I will post their details here.

I think this recent worldwide participation on the board is great (after all, it is a worldwide web that Gore invented) - - - even the political differences are fun! I'll bet one of us Americans on this board winds up meeting some of those Aussies (hope it's me)

Yes there are quite a few Mac's around the Sydney/Hunter Valley area.
Take a look at http://www.trailersailerplace.com.au - they organise a few gatherings - and they are a really great group of people.
I have been out on Lake Macquarie and in one day seen 5 x Mac26 and 2 x Mack28 (not sure what this is ? Its an enlarged copy of the Mac 26X - www .mackmanboats.com.au)
Cheers

Crikey Rockman you will get this bloke into trouble after a recent post wanting less Mac talk on there.
but seriously hope we do get some more Mac posters and it really is a great and informative local site. With plenty of good natured stirring, not like these blokes here they tend to take it seriously
