What part of Alaska are you in Danimal? I have family in Juneau, and was up there last August. i saw a blue 26m docked in Auke Bay, but the owner wasn't about. i definitely want to go up the Inside Passage someday. There's only a small stretch of 50 or so miles by BC where your exposed to open sea. Water didn't seem too cold around Juneau, maybe 60 degrees? we went up Tracy Arm to see the glaciers, and that was a very different story.

You are as crazy as me.
I sent BWY a 90% deposit on an M which is the demo boat at the Seattle boat show this week. I'm picking it up in a month, so please tread softly on her if you go to the show.

I've never set foot on a Mac either, but this forum has convinced me she is the boat for us.

Oh no... now I feel really bad :P

We bought ours a year & a half ago at the fall show. Put a deposit down before the show, but never told the kids; going in & out of display boats they're actually very calm & polite, so they thought is was a little weird when Dad was saying things like 'Go ahead, climb through the forward hatch; see if you can do it'. Anyways, enjoy both the anticipation, as well as the excitement as you go through the whole pick up/purchase. When we went to get ours, we went down on a Sat., stayed onboard overnight (on the trailer), the next day did our orientation stuff and took her home.

Enjoy.

We are getting excited. It's a strange excitement because as we speak, other people are on our boat and we haven't stepped foot on it (or any other Mac). My wife's brother lives in Seattle, so we'll make a visit and pick up our new toy at the same time.

Hello,
Man, if you are crazy then I was a lunatic as well.
I put a deposit down in January of 95 at the Portland boat show when all I had to look at was a 19 and a line drawing of what the 26 was supposed to look like. Todd @ BWY brought hull #3 down in February and we sailed around the Columbia for half an hour, I confirmed the order. Waited until May 21st to get the boat.

Worth the wait
Worth the money
Get to go sailing
with my honey!

Bad news travels fast....I haven't seen much of IT about the :macm:

I actually owned , for 6 years, the personal 40 ft. ketch, built for himself, of the world famous Australian ship architect Len Randall [ google it] a beautiful jarrah carvel hull...a bit like the CuttySark. And now I have a :macm:
Speaks for itself.

Welcome!

Remember - - - the best two days in the life of a boat owner are the day he buys the boat and the day he sells the boat.

At least you've come to the right place for information - - - this is THE site.

I looked at Macs for 15 YEARS before I bought my 2006 :macm: - - - and I had powerboats for 40 years - - - but had never set foot on a sailboat, much less owned one. Now I RARELY use my engine (though I still want it there).

Rick :) :macm:
