SoCal Yamaha Service (avoid)

Post by Carioca »

Here in Orange county, CA I chose the nearest Yammy dealer to tune up my 50 hp .The Name is Elco marine, Santa Ana.
If you want to keep ur sanity dont go to them as they are the most disorganized doofs out there. To find your paper work, they have to look in their land fill of an office. My motor ran horribly and I had to de-rig to bring it back.2nd try, same thing.

John. :macx: :x

Yoh Moderators....
Has anyone ever considered a special discussion board for listing items such as this. Extended discussion might be a bad idea but rather it could be just a posting place for bad experiences and and a second posting place for good experiences with various venders. That way when passing through an area or planning a trip we could all benefit from local knowledge or experiences.
I am think particularly about the couple who were passing through Texas and needed a welder. Fortunately a local MAC owner was reading and was able to post recommendations. Had he been out sailing, they would have had a much more stressful experience. Had I not been a regular reader, I would probably not have thought to do a search should I have a similar problem.

Yep! My view is simply another Forum called Chandlery Advice, or some such.

It would concentrate all threads relating to boating products or vendors. Recent product discussions, just from memory, included ladders, doggie platforms, LED lighting ... the list could be never-ending. Service suggestions, of course, would need to name a City in the thread title (as now adjusted, above).

I'll post it as an Admin note to Heath, a suggestion for future Board changes.
