1991 M26s, bought a standard drain plug to replace the old one -- it's just a bit too small? What the heck size works? I thought one size fits all??
Thanks

You can usually adjust them by twisting the handle while holding the bottom part of the plug, pulling the bottom part of the plug up, so it will expand more when you close the latch. If its a close fit, that should do it.

Re: what size drain plug?
the plug I purchased doesn't have that capability of turning to expand for a tighter fit. Will go back and get an adjustable one, also may look at getting a 1.25" plug
thanks

Not sure about this, but guessing the 26X ballast vent is drilled at one-inch, so that plug won't work.
Maybe the 26S was different, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Roger prolly bought that one-inch drill bit in the 90s, and he's still using it~!

Re: what size drain plug?
I had this same problem with my 26D. Not sure if the previous owner had worn away the edges over time but a 1 inch plug wouldn't adjust to fit properly. I bought a PVC pip endcap that works like a champ. I believe it was the cap for 1 inch pipe, but with the groves it fits very snug. Just don't jam it. I've had to use pliers a couple of times to pull it out. But when I just put it in snug it works great.
