Well, this is how it played out: I had someone remove a segment of the overhead frame, effectively dropping the floor lower. The street is higher than the parking lot, so the front part of the frame was too low. Now it's fine. He also removed the cement/stone post from the entrance, and filled in the "hole" in the corner of my driveway (which is adjacent to the parking). THis created a nice and wide entrance to the parking. A skillful pro driver I hired backed the Mac into the parking lot, with an inch to spare on the top (I put the mast on the side of the deck) and 1 cm on the side.
The Mac is now parked, protected from the wind and covered with a TUMACS Mac cover. Hopefully, that is how I will find it in May...
Thanks for the tips and advice!

Srdjan,
Don't do it man! You don't want your lifelines any lower than they are. I like the ideas about modifying the shed or removing the trailer tires; if either of those are viable. BTW, stachions are a common place on sailboats to develop leaks, so if you will be removing/reinstalling, you're inviting troulbe. Just my 2cents' worth.
Hey, when your coming back to the Bay Area?

Re: Removing the stanchions
Hey, Leon
So, no, we did not touch the stanchions. Rather, we opened up the entrance to the parking lot and squeezed the Mac in.
It's a bit short, so I did not put the mast in the cradle, but on the cabin top...
And we're back! Already put in some sailing in Monterey last weekend.

Re: Removing the stanchions
Get a couple of smaller diameter wheels to use temporarily when storing the boat. My Mac19 has 12" wheels and this allows the Mac to get into my garage with 1" to spare under the door. The 12" wheels I have fit over my 10" brake drums that I believe are standard to all Mac trailers.
