South Florida Trailers Mfg

Post by jcasale »

Like many of us I am sad to admit it is time for a new trailer. I live in NE Florida and the number of trailer dealers/mfg is limited. I have been told that South Fla. has much higher numbers. I will be in Miami for turkey day and was wondering if any Mac owners in that area have had custom trailers made and if they could recommend a dealer. The guys in Jacksonville are good at what they are used to, but the Mac throws them for a loop. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks for the info. Spoke with a Continental dealer up here today. He quoted me 3800 for a trailer. Model number 2660 with brakes on one axle. Do you know what model number you have? It would be great if the mfg of your trailer saved the bunk placement measurements. I will not have my boat w/me next week so taking the boat in for a re-bunk/reposition is not an option. Do you have a point of contact at this dealership? Also, how long ago did you purchase? Thanks again,
John

Re: South Florida Trailers-Try Ace Trailers, Tampa

John,
The copy below is from my post to this forum on September 19, 2008.
One more reader of this website has purchased a trailer from Ace Trailers since September.
I have photos of my trailer available.

Luke Thompson

"I purchased an aluminum trailer from Ace Trailers, Tampa, Florida in January, 2008.
The owner spent two hours with me, at the factory, adjusting
the trailer bunks for a perfect fit on my boat.
The Ace Trailer was the best I could find for the 26X, and the price was
considerably lower than the prices from the national trailer factories.
Jack O'Brien, Gostosa, Lake Worth, Florida, has an Ace trailer for his 26X."

John,

As Luke mentioned, I am the other member who purchased recently from Ace. Just took delivery a few weeks ago. I'm in Boston so had to pay dearly for delivery but it was worth it. I forget the breakdown on the price but I had breaks installed on one axle, plus spare tire, plus bow ladder for about $3500 not including delivery. Trailer is great. Looks alot like the Continental in the post above. Ace does not need your boat to build the trailer and they can build one in a few days. They are in Tampa. Here is a link.

John, model # is A2450-2000,Weight 999lbs.
Base price was $2480 and I added front Vbunks,2 brake flanges for total cost of $2600 (Not includeing Tax). They included Tall winch stand and Frame bent forward. They told me $500 front axel disk brakes.
They have the Mac. X on file but all you need is lower twin bunks to the Frame (resting 3" X 10" inches bunk boards on top of frame).
The twin forward bunks you can adjust when boat is on trailer.
I bought the Trailer in Jan. of this year.
I gave you the contact # in last Post.
Th 2660 is to big for a Mac.X.

Also try Caribean trailer, he quote me two weeks ago about 2500 for a mac26x

Instead I bought a brand new axel custom made by them. $255 with hubs and hardware ready to install.

They are located in South Florida, Turnpike and 152 Street (coral reef)near by Metrozoo.
