A Few More Pics from the B.E.E.R. Cruise

Post by hart »

I'm going through the 150 or so captures I've got trying to get the good ones uploaded. I've made it about a 3rd of the way. Here are a couple I thought you guys might like. These were taken in Big Lagoon, FL in a spot known as Sailboat Cove:

Scott's classic mac with some great mods. How about those portholes?

IIRC we had 5 X's, at one point 2 M's, and several classic Macs
(5 or 6 maybe) plus a guy that just bought a Mac catamaran but didn't bring it. Mac sailors were well represented in the fleet to say the least.

Here's my budding B.E.E.R album if you want to see more pics. I'll add some more tomorrow I hope.

I might post a few more from our time at Navarre if any Mac related ones are decent.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong place. My bad.

Here's a link to my completed B.E.E.R. 2009 slideshow.

Here's one I thought you guys might like in particular. I wish it had come out a bit better but such is life.

Thanks. It's a Nikon D60. Some pictures I used the kit 18-55 lens and some are with a 70-300 zoom.

Fantastic pics. Please be sure to post info on this trip for next year. I will try to take some leave and fly back for this trip if I can.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim,

I think they do it about the same time each year but I'm not positive. You can bookmark the BEER cruise website. It's still got this year's info but I assume Ben will update it at some point later this year.

When I hear more I'll post a topic on 2010 and put it in the calendar if somebody else hasn't already.

I've already told my wife we're going next year - with the emphasis on WE as in the family.

I am hoping/planning to move next Summer (hopefully back to the U.S. and even more hopefully to a good sailing location on East or Gulf Coast...no disrespect to the Left or North Left Coasters but that is not my "homeland")...probably July. But maybe I can figure out a way to take a week and fly back to the U.S. in June for some "house hunting" and can trailer my boat over to P-Cola for BEER 2010.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Jim

I never get tired of looking at pics Mac owners post showing their many adventures.

Great boat, great times.

If the Mac was not so affordable, many of us would be just plain "missing the boat" on some great memories.

Cheers

After consulting my Moderator's Handbook (5th Edition) and searching out precedents from the past 100 years, I have come to the determination, that your use of the word "amen", is acceptable when used as you have used it, in the transitive verb form. According to Webster's Dictionary (online version), when amen is used as a transitive verb, one of it's meanings is: to concur in heartily or emphatically and it is often used in the English language, colloquially. However, if it is used in the middle of a sentence and capitalized, it is often considered as having a religious connotation.

In deciding this matter, I have noted that you have capitalized the word. Also, since you have provided punctuation at the end of the word, so it has to be considered a one word sentence, where the beginning, middle and end of the sentence are one. Therefore, your word can be considered to be in the middle of the sentence and capitalized. However, since you used all capital letters, it may be determined from context, that your use of capital letters was for emphasis and not reverence.

All things considered, I deem your use of the word "AMEN" in your post to be acceptable under the standards of this board. This ruling applies only to this individual post and subsequent quotes of it and should not be misconstrued to mean that the use of the word "amen" is acceptable in any other post and such use of the word shall be judged on an individual basis.

Too much free time and ADHD, are dangerous. :o
