If you want a non-slip wax, try a surf shop. If nothing else, it gives you a chance to hang out and act cool.

Those guys wax their boards all the time and then stand on them while going 40 mph down waves.

Dr. Zog's sex wax if I recall. I think they had a bunch of different tackiness wax types.

Surfboard wax is more like candle wax than car wax - it is sticky and after every few applications needs to be removed (it gets thick and can ball up). It also collects dirt like nobody's business - and the dirt is stuck in there until you remove the wax. As stated above, the purpose is to provide a sticky, non-slip surface to surf on - NOT to make things look all spiffy and shiny.

I'd never use surfboard wax on my Mac topsides.

While on the deck subject, can I use my Briggs&Stratton 2100 PSI pressure washer on the boat or will it do some damage :?: 8) Rob

I ski and snowboard and use a heat gun when waxing my boards. I wonder if that would help lay that surf wax down so it had a nice finish and gave you sure footing on a wet deck :?: 8) Rob

Not in fast passes, but never focus a pressure washer on fiberglass for any length of time as it has the potential to damage the gel or even the underlayment.

Thanks Kevin, I've seen a pressure washer peel wood and pit asphalt so yes I would open nozzle, just wanted reassurance deck is done well enough to stand a fanned pass. 8) Rob

Fixed link in post above :x 8) Rob PS - First link is blacked out intentionally. If you're curious It shows the kite surfer who got blown across the highway and into the side of a building while surfing high winds.
