Re: Anybody know of any unhappy Mac owners?
Paulieb and Highlander,
At least you live on the same continent as your Mac. I haven't seen mine since in over 7 months...but I will be back on the 30th and starting 3 days of mods/installs on the 31st before I splash and sail on the 3rd.
T-minus 10 days and counting...
Cheers,
Jim

Sorry, Could Not Help Myself
We are very unhappy when we don't get to use our boat.
Our 26X was bought on whim within days of seeing it on the roadside for sale (quick research including this great sight) . We just wanted something to get our family on the water that included sailing for my wife and I. I figured with teenagers and near teenagers we would get maybe two or three seasons out of the boat (enticing them with wakeboarding). Now on our fifth season we can't wait for each trip we make (kids still attending). Wakeboarding is on hold until we repower with a 90 Hp Suzuki.
I could not help myself but to respond to some of these uninformed people from the link above => http://forums.sailinganarchy.com/index. ... try2422086

Re: Anybody know of any unhappy Mac owners?
I just checked out the sailing anarchy site and here's what I think: people who are unhappy in their own life
tend to diss those around them. Ignore them and enjoy your Mac's.
With multiples of thousands of boats sold, I think they have proven they have a pretty strong appeal to boaters.

We are VERY VERY UNHAPPY because the weather is 104 F with hardly any breeze and too hot to want to sail. Mosquitos around here are carring the West Nile Viris and folks are in the hospitle paralized so that too Makes us UNHAPPY.
We love our MacM and are praying for a good frost and a great winter of sailing.

SkiDeep2001 The biggest thing Mac folks have in the way of sailing is bussiness and that is why I can't leave the area today (I am showing an apt for rent then I am gone, 3.5 hours to Pudget Sound and steady winds)

As Father Jimmy (Buffett) would've put it - "Can I get an AMEN for that?!!" (Re, his "Feeding Frenzy" album)
Every #*&!$n' boat out there is a compromise. A twelve-meter yacht is a perfect bitch to handle, they say ... "solid and stable" often mean an ungainly barge of a boat ... racers say "If nothing broke, you weren't pushing hard enough." Compare Joshua Slocum's remarks about Spray with Sir Francis Chichester's remarks about Gipsy Moth ... same purpose, different boats, much different experiences. I was surprised at how much bitchin' Sir Francis did about his purpose-built world cruiser; Slocum wrote of Spray as of a cherished, faithful and loved wife.
The Mac's compromises are: built to live on a trailer; hull like a big dinghy (X and M); water ballast, and comparatively little of it, with its consequent tenderness and lack of sailing power (compared to the lead keel on a Pearson Renegade, for example); "too light for the open ocean"; simple and unadorned construction, with a cabin more like a Chevy Van than a proper yaaaaaacht....
What does it do well? They get thousands of us out sailing, maybe mostly on day trips, but at a price we can afford! We're out having fun, while the Captain Snobbleys are working extra hours to meet the costs of owning their Teak Goddesses, and spending their weekends varnishing all that teak!
The perfumed dandies of Sailing Anarchy are welcome to their supercilious, uninformed, bigoted opinions....
We all know what opinions are like (and I've said it of my opinions): Everyone has one and most of them stink.
Skew the anarchists. Let's get out sailing and have our fun.
...
Actually, I'm a bit unhappy, with my Mac, today. (Notice the comma. I mean that if I ascribed emotions to Bossa Nova, she'd be unhappy too.) The forecast was for thunderstorms, with a small-craft advisory ... so I did the prudent thing and stayed home. So did the thunderstorms. I could have been out sailing ...

Yes, Yes, Yes, and ahem, how many of those other "sailors" and their boats would be in relatively good shape after rolling over as in this topic The boat on its side in the Solent . Maybe somebody should post that thread on the sailing anarchist website. I would suspect it would get their hackles up but what the hey.

Re: Anybody know of any unhappy Mac owners?
I was unhappy with my Mac cause the motor didn't start when I tried to motor off the sand banks. But i like my Mac now cause I realized after sailing my way off the sand banks that somebody unhooked the kill switch on my Honda 50 cause it was in the way and put it away so it would not bother any one any more!!!!!
I like my Mac cause it's not in the water! Its on the sand banks in the middle of the St Laurence River.

Sailing Anarchy Website
I was mowing the lawn last night and realized why the site is named "Sailing Anarchy". That's because there is no adult webmaster supervision for the bad little children.
What a contrast with this and other sites!

Bertrand,
You gotta quit drinking the Scotch when your on the water with your boat it is obviously afecting your eye sight !
Nice pic Though
we had two Tornado's touch down both 1/2hr from either side of my place !
yesterday alot of damage have not heard of any deaths yet ,
But with 90km/h winds & 5" of water running down the street I was temped !
, but the rain was coming down so hard you could not see 2ft in front of you ! more storms for the next 48hrs !
So can not even work on my mods

It's time to move out to the west coast John, we are experiencing one of our driest and warmest summers on record.Highlander wrote:we had two Tornado's touch down both 1/2hr from either side of my place !yesterday alot of damage have not heard of any deaths yet ,
