I was reading these names out to my wife. After reading 'Got Wind', the Admiral suggested:TexasDan40 wrote: .

When I was a kid, we had neighbors who really wanted a dog - all except the mom, who said "no." Finally, Dad and the boys decided to surprise her Christmas morning with a Great Dane pup. The plan was to name the dog the first thing she said... they quickly decided they couldn't stand out in the yard yelling that, however!I read a funny piece in 48 Degrees North, a Puget Sound sailing publication, on naming boats. The author was the owner of several previous boats, and had just bought a used sailboat. He and his wife were discussing renaming the boat, and having a hard time coming up with something suitable. He wanted something unique, but just couldn't think of a good boat name which was not likely to show up on another boat. Finally, in frustration and in a totally joking manner he said "Why don't we just call her "Dogbreath". To his great shock and surprise, his wife said "Yes, That's it! Dogbreath. We'll never see another boat with that name". No amount of backtracking could get him off the hook, and so "Dogbreath" it was. I guess the moral of the story is, be careful with flip comments.
I cast my vote for "TexDan"albion wrote:How about just TexDan
When Greg explained this is how he named their boat I was Skeptical.I am an engineer and my wife was a diploma nurse till her mid-40s when she went
back to school on line and got her degree too. Boats name is: Two Degrees Out
I would suggest that any name that might be appropriate for a British "74" of Nelson's day is, shall we say, rather audacious to put on a pleasure-cruiser like our boats. For example - my first sailboat, a Mac 19, had been named "Intrepid" by the PO's. That's a great name for an aircraft carrier ... but a 19-foot just-barely-more-than-daysailer? I couldn't get that name off fast enough!CampCook wrote:So, now if am successful in finding a new boat it will probably be "Blo Me Too" or "Blo Me Again" or "Blo Me Also". Also considering "Audacity". I doubt that I will ask my wife for her suggestion this time.
