When I got the 26s the drain in the rear of the cockpit and the the drain down out of the motor well (down in the lazarette) had been plumbed in a rather amateurish sort of way with a hodge podge of parts. It worked--but just barely. I have since re-plumbed it. The repair seems solid but is just my own version using parts from Lowe's.
I would love to know how this was plumbed when it came from the factory. I cant seem find a fitting (a "T" or "Y") that is 1" ID on one port and 1 1/2" ID on the others. Does anyone have a photo of this area as it came from the factory? Is there anyone out there whose boat is still factory?
I would also be interested in any really successful mods of this "plumbing"
...........for MacGregors and Ventures and go to some of the 26S sites. I think I saw some picture of stock plumbing on one and I've seen some that have been modified with PVC. I think mine is stock, but don't have any pictures in there. I might be able to take some if you can't find any.
Here is a link that shows what the original plumbing looks like down there. Almost everything in my 26S is still original and looks just like this. Your description of "rather amateurish sort of way with a hodge podge of parts" fits my set-up to the T. That setup seems to take way too much space in the Lazarette. But like you say, it works fine so I do not bother it.
WOW. I didn't know the lazarette was white inside.
My plumbing looks that way, but I can tell the original owner never cleaned the lazarette. Hopefully, the next owner won't be able to say the same thing about me.
I really liked the PVC mod as well. Very cool. I may have to follow your example HGII.

Look around the other pictures in this site. There are many pictures of what everything looks like inside 26S
I like what you've done and at some point will probably do the same. I'll probably replace a couple of the 90 deg ells with "T"s and then put a screw in plug in one side of the "T". That way if something gets caught down in there the plug could be pulled and you could rod it out.
Interesting! Apparently mine was stock. I was pretty sure that the "white" PVC non-barbed reducing tee (in the mid part of the 1 1/2" hose) wasn't stock. I would have been wrong. Oh well! Nice pictures. I appreciate the information.
