Water Bladder under Aft Bunk?

I also installed a 26 gal triangular tank in the v-berth of our '99X, lasts about
5 days, also stuff as many one gal jugs as I can get in, plus I freeze several
one gal milk jugs in place of ice. We use the aft washdown hose for quick showers,
FL, of course. We have a pressure water system.

PO installed a 150l Plastimo bladder under the aft bunk. The 1 inch flexible ribbed filler hose is plumbed to a capped inlet located on the port cockpit seat, aft of the fuel tank locker and the half inch flexible ribbed outlet hose is long enough to allow the sliding galley to move its full distance. When the bladder is full it bulges above the floor of the aft bunk a little and raises the cushion so I usually only fill it completely for long trips.

I installed a Jabsco 4.2l/min Pressure Pump on the aft wall of the P1 locker and also replaced the original hand pump with a single high spout tap. The pump is a bit noisy but works well and the high spout tap is great for filling kettles etc.

Holly Smoke , my shower consists of one cup of cold water a sponge soaked then squeezed it out over my head standing in a basin recoupe the water out of the basin repeat as necc using same water over & over again , then recoupe same water & brush my teeth & re-use for washing dishes , recoupe same water & save for boiling patatoes then use whats left for making tea, coffee or pasta two gallons of water lasts me about 1 week I try to conserve my resources

We use 10 gallons of fresh on anchor at Cuttyhunk in 7 days with 5-6 on board. Sponge showers and careful dish cleaning practices are key to keeping consumption low.

I dont want a huge tank since if I dont use all of it I have to pump it all out in storage, which is a pain.

I carry a 7 gallon reserve container which, in a pinch, I can fill on shore and replenish the FW tank. I located it forward under the front table seat on my

With all these sponge baths and 10gal week long trips I'm guessing there's not much hot sex happening on your boats,I believe my wife can go thru 10gals just doing her hair wash an rinse,pressuized water is hard to live without even on a boat in my opinion.I personally don't do much planing in my M more like put-put 2000rpm max, weight is of no consideration for us. thank god for plastimo!

Nope.. that hose on the right is the factory Mac drain hose that goes under the aft berth to the transom through hull. Looks like he just added another one next to it.

Now the perfect Mac mod would be to put flexible bladder water tanks in the ballast tanks that would draw in outside water to fill the ballast when fresh water is emptied. We've got over a thousand pounds of non-potable water in our boats. Too bad we can't use it.

We usually go to places where you don't want to drink the local water without boiling and filtering first. Many places have no fresh water available at all.

Our 4WD has provision to hold 80 litres when required, we have yet to need to fully load up though, one day we will have the time to cross the Central Oz deserts.

If Lake Eyre gets enough water this year we might see about having a sail if we can manage time off to coincide, we will have to use the Hobie Cat not on Imagine.

Now I see, you have brackish water and probably not many ports around the lake with water or icecream . Do you get hard water deposits on your Mac. Does it smell bad ?

The water we sail in is fine to swim, bath, etc ... in a emergency I would set up a solar still, or boil or filter the water to drink, the water that stinks .. .. stinks for good reason, usually due to being stagnant.

I have been looking at what's needed to make a small desalinator for use on the boat, I want to power it from a solar panel for long trips.
