Two Harbors, Catalina Trip #1, 2010
I just spent a great weekend rafted up with about ten boats from Balboa Yacht Club in the turning basin at Newport Harbor. The weather and company were fabulous!
So, now that the weather has turned, when is our first MacTrip? The Buffalo Milk calls to me! How does April 24-25 sound to folks here in SoCal? I am open most weekends. Does anyone have a trip already planned?

At first look, with our work schedule, Apr 16,17,18 or Apr 30, May 1, 2 would fit much better.
Those are our normal "every other Friday off" weekends.
Will need to check with the Admiral for other scheduled events on the calendar, so pencil us in at this time.

Sounds good Crabby, but I bet we can find more folks. Especially the good crews of MDR. If it's just our two ships then we will just have a smaller party!

Count us in, (temporarily), for the weekend of May 1st. Otherwise, we'll try to catch the next one.
Looking foreward to seeing everyone again!

While I could not get that Friday completely off, I was able to change my plans for Saturday night. My plan is to plow through the late afternoon surf, green water over the bow, periscope up! I will arrive soaking wet and sober, a sad state to be sure but nothing a hot shower and a plethora of Buffalo Milks can't cure. At this point I have not drummed up any crew so it will be another solo adventure for me. I look forward to seeing you fine folks Friday evening April 30th.

I just checked Weather.com, according to The Weather Channel we are expecting a long storm next week starting Tuesday and extending into Friday. I think this is wonderful news, we are assured of perfect weather for our trip, when was the last time you remember the ten day forecast being correct?

Good luck on your trip - - - wish I were there - - - but this is the kind of thinking I just LOVE - - - - I just played a guy heads up in $500 freezeouts and I beat him 6 times in a row. He says he wants to play again because he is "due"
He has almost no shot to win because I have 5 "tells" on him - - - I amost always know if he has a hand or not and whether he actually has what he is representing
He will just wind up contributing more to my new boat fund! TU!
Rick
Less
PS And I probably won't even invite him out on the boat

Just checking in for the trip.
Looking at the NOAA weather, we will most likely be backing out due to winds.
It looks like early morning 18+ knts from the NW during transit.
Not our cup of tea.

Bill,
I agree. High winds plus high waves equal a wet and wild ride that I don't need. Besides, I'd have a mutiny on my hands shortly after leaving the harbor. I suggest that we try this trip some other time.

I will admit it looks to be windy, but like I said, Sunny and 70, not a drop of rain! I still think we should get an early trip in, let's keep this thread active. I will still consider a run out on Saturday morning if the winds drop down.

Szanin35,

Hardcrab’s last post was a year ago.
If Pokerrick1 is still with us, he would be 90.
I don’t think anyone is going to respond. Who knows? maybe?
