Guess my weight...win a prize...
Well, not my weight but the weight of König.
After spending several hours last weekend putting up the mast and re-rigging the boat I had to spend this morning taking it all back down. Seems the Joint Personal Property Shipping Office (JPPSO to us military folks) says I can be reimbursed for shipping the boat from my storage location in Florida to my new location in Virginia. But I had to get an official weight for them.
So after prepping König for trailering again I took him over to the scales in Woodbridge, VA. So guess the weight and you win a prize. Weight includes boat and trailer along with 40 HP Merc 2-Stroke, main, genoa on furler, all the usual cushions plus two cockpit cushions, bimini, two Danforth anchors (13 pounders???? I can't remember), sail covers and cockpit cover, vhf, stereo and two speakers, some cleaning supplies, a couple gallons of water, 6' step ladder, extra main in a bag, spare tire, mast raising pole, and a few other odds and ends, bits and pieces, this and that...you know.
I also included some of the equipment in my Trailblazer that I moved as well but I am subtracting 200 pounds for that stuff. I will scan and post a copy of my weight ticket.
JPPSO says I may get about $2400...but that is not the prize. I think I will also be reimbursed for my storage fees the last three years...around $1500...but that is not the prize either.
I will check back with the weight in a few days.
Cheers,
Jim

OK Jim,
You have now created the MacGregorSailors version of the price is right
What's next, after the winner discovers what their prize is, they can keep it, or instead, take what's behind door number one

I forgot to guess
According to "The Price is Right" strategies, I should guess 3873 lbs.

Re: Guess my weight...win a prize...
Yes, the weight ticket says one number and I will subrtract 200 pounds from that as Seahouse said.
I plan to leave the mast down for now. Hoping/expecting/praying that my big shipment of household goods/furniture show up in about two weeks. Then hopefully the weekend after that I will bring the boat to the house so I can work on it some. Needs washing/polishing (inside and out); need to install the new GPS; need to do something with my stereo speakers; plus about 20-25 other small projects I want to work on. But I can't bring it home until after the movers get here with our stuff.
Maybe I will get on the water by mid September.
Hint #1: Nobody has hit the number yet and the scales are not that precise...they are designed to weigh big moving trucks.
Cheers,
Jim
