We've all been hoodwinked.... we don't have MacGregor powersailers from California, we have Hison fishing boats from China!!!

Re: Chinese Trailer Sailor
a couple of the pics were lifted straight from the Mac website, and a couple from China. There is antifoul on the boat in that shot outside the Chinese factory.
Anyway, I just hope it is A) a Chinese company trying to rip Macgregor off, rather than B) Macgregor now having them made there. Because If its A), Roger will have to deal with the problem, and if its B), we will have to deal with it in the all the crap we will cop LOL and the devaluing of our boats
But seriously, it makes no sense for Macgregor to have them made there because with how cheap they are in the States, the cost of importing them back would dry up the extra profit I would think. If on the other hand, they decided to have some made under licence in China to be supplied to this part of the world, I doubt anymore would sell in Oz and New Zealand at least

With a minimum order of 50
I doubt we'd see too many hit the water around here.

Re: Chinese Trailer Sailor
in Italy we drive cars made in Germany by OPEL traded with the name of Opel, the same cars are made in UK by Vauxhall and sold with that name, exactly same cars same projects but who is behind is the same owner : Genera Motors.
Doesn't surprise me MacGregor is making the same boat in Asia to meet the requirements of that part of the world markets (I hope workers at MacGregor factory won't be affected by this).
Get ready to have soon many new members from the east.
Good wind to all

Re: Chinese Trailer Sailor
I just received an email back from Laura MacGregor Sharp
Here is part of it:
I hope Macgregor can convince them to change their mind...
Here is part of it:
And there we have it, its a Chinese company who has not yet, but will try to copy the boat if they get any ordersUnfortunately the link you sent does appear to be yet another builder attempting to either reverse engineer or just plain copy one of our models. All the photos shown are straight off our website, and the boat in the photo is a MacGregor on a MacGregor trailer.
We appreciate the “heads up” on this, and will be contacting the company in China immediately.
