It takes about 10 minutes to unscrew your brake line and screw the solenoid in place - IF you choose to do this during your bi-annual replacement of your brake fluid of course....you ARE replacing your brake fluid every other season, arent you???

i have an '06M. Mfg early '06 so i presume the trailer is a late '05/early '06. Replaced my actuator last year due to brake line leak. Below are links to Universal Functional Products who make the components for Mac trailers. Don't forget to bleed flush the lines when you install the solenoid or replace any of the components.

Took me about 8 hours to do it (replace the actuator) on my new-to-me 2005 trailer! The actuator got welded into place in the frame due to rust. took a couple hours to get the actuator out few hours grinding on the inside frame to get the new one to slide in!

Not sure, on the M, if you could screw the solenoid on the actuator while it is still in the tounge. it is pretty tight there. I could barly get a wrench on the brake line.

Would be a good time to check the brake line where it exits the tounge. At least on the steel trailers, the line rubs against the bottom of the steel hole, sitting in water (as the hole is in the center of the beam, not the bottom).
