I made a video of the process of raising my mast. It offers a unique perspective since I have the furler mounted permanently and have to deal with it each time I raise and lower my mast. If anybody is interested, it's here on Youtube:

I skipped a few parts like untying everything and I had to stop when I needed to trim the bottom of the mast a little so it would clear the new boom vang fitting I bolted to the mast base. That was the real reason I was raising the mast in the back yard anyway.
Enjoy,

Re: Mast Raising
I was ambushed by this other Mac26X sailor who said he needed proof that I am able to setup and launch my X in 15 min. (I've always had to wait on him and his crew of miscreants for what seems like hours....
)
I was surprised when the video was 10 minutes... and I wasn't in a hurry.
Thought I would share too.

Re: Mast Raising
Cool to see this. I thought I had to use the halyard to lift the mast upright but watching you do it I see I can just Rig the side and back stay and then just lift it. Thanks for the post.

Neat to watch on video but just ticks you off when you are setting up next to himErik Hardtle wrote:I was ambushed by this other Mac26X sailor who said he needed proof that I am able to setup and launch my X in 15 min.
