Mac 25 spinnaker on a 26m

Post by jschrade »

I have come across a brand new mac/venture spinnaker for $400 from a sail loft.

I: 21.30 ISP: 21.3 J: 9.80.

Cut luff: 22.8
Cut leech: 20.36
Cut foot: 16.7

He said it was technically 9" long for my boat but that really doesn't matter in performance and I am not racing.

Any comments?

Um...no comments.** :P

**cuz I'm clueless about what all those numbers mean...and 9" of extra length on a 15-foot tall parachute flapping around in front of the boat seems a bit nit-picky to me...

I'll bet it's dark blue, light blue and yellow in color

I owned a Mac 25 and installed a spinnaker from a Mac X on it. Later, when I sold the boat and bought a Mac 26 M I kept the spinnaker for the new boat. Only trouble you might have is how high above the fore-stay to attach the spinnaker hound. About 12 inches is my humble opinion. I think the blue, dark blue and yellow sails are all about the same size.

I'd say it was about a 300sq ft spin should fit OK being smaller you'd be able to fly it in higher winds :)

The X, M Spin's are 350sq ft @ luff 27ft. foot 17.4ft. leech 24.5ft
