Frogs work. Every spring my boat gets invaded by those little green frogs. It's bug free! Or course the admiral hates frogs, so there's a trade off.

A few lively posts in the past regarding bugs. Primarily spiders and wasps. We had good luck with moth balls in a peice of panty hose. Just a couple in a few spots or the smell gets overwelming.

Re: Marina spiders :-(
Hey Hector --
That would kill everything belowdecks, but in our area at least, the majority of the problem is in the cockpit, rigging, canvas and sails on the exterior.
While we do it occasionally, I hesitate to use insect spray because our sailing routine involves finger foods like fruit, pretzels etc and it's hard to not touch anything in the boat (residues) and snack at the same time.
An on-board pump with the intake dropped in the water feeds a garden hose that we use to hose the boat down weekly. As BWYgirl suggests, while not at all a permanent solution, it seems to minimize the problem without toxins.
Curiously, I have found that even when moored upwind (prevailing winds) from shore, spiders still balloon out to boats.
