My insurance company wants a price on the motor. I doubt the previous owner would know that, so I'm asking the surveyor.
It's a 2001 Honda BF50. Serviced regularly. Surveyor looked it over and said it looked great.
Any ideas how I might price it? Looked online to no avail.

Re: pricing my outboard for insurance
Looks like the 2001 models are selling for anywhere between $3000 - $4500 (based upon some hits on the internet) - and a new one is closer to $7500. I suppose it depends on whether you need to insure it for replacement value (same model, same year) or the cost of a new one...
Mine is just included in my overall policy; with the cost of the boat and motor as a single total...
Good luck!

Be Careful with Insurance Policies.. You can often pay for more than you'll ever get out of them.. I drove for a NUMBER of years a Very High Performance Customized Grand Touring vehicle.. My agent had me send him recent pictures every year and with them showing up to date state tags .. That car was in time stolen.. and he paid me enough .. pretty well
...to replace it.. If I had not had proper documentation I would have received enough money to buy a used replacement vehicle of the same make and model.. 5 year old IMHO JUNK.. Be careful .. READ...
