As long as you are sitting down.

ps
I shot that video on Leon's boat in SF Bay years ago.
Don't you think 45 at 45 has kind of a ring to it?
LOL
It is a youtube video after all.
I have uploaded 26 sailing videos on there and that one has almost 50,000 views
http://www.youtube.com/user/Pegasus26M# ... -cd_f-i0nE
All of my other vids have far less
With youtube, Its all in the title
8)
We were having fun out there, probably too much fun, ie no LJ's on.
It was blowing hard, we were double reefed main, and 1/3 in on the jib and still heeling hard over
I guess too much confidence can lead to the wrong outcome in a bad situation.
I have been sailing for more than 3 decades, so I guess I feel a bit too comfortable out there and don't fear mother nature the way I suppose I should.

Cheers

Must have been using the same wind speed measuring device that MacGregor did for his sales video. "Looks to be about 25kts, Mr. MacGregor. Screw it call it 50!"

That's 25 kts tops.

I can't tell that first heel but the second one got over as far as 35 degrees. Yikes!

Though I notice they rounded up pretty quick after that one. Perhaps that was not an intended heel?

Does answer one question I had though: is that big bimini problematic? I guess not.

I've wondered if, in a stiff wind, it could pull me over farther than I intend. Certainly, it can't improve the sailing characteristics of the Mac.

I went out yesterday - briefly - on Lake Michigan. I noticed that except for one other sailboat (w/o sails who was heading for the marina) I was alone out there. I quickly figured out why - the wind was 20+ knots and the waves were 4-7 feet. My Genoa in Jib mode was moving me at 3-4 knots. It was a good experience, but I was glad I had my PFD and tether on. I'm not going to repeat that experience in a hurry. :|

OK, thought maybe I'd hit the wrong page or something. Still not sure how we got here from there.
