Re: Black hull M26
you could.....
call this the stealth version... and charge more......
add a big splashy signature, and a gnarly big plastic sticker... and charge more...
refer to this as the "military version" - and charge a LOT MORE>.. .... ok.. 4X more....
***************
If not careful, the ideas catch on - with unexpected consequences... I remember one hard disk drive company that painted their prototype test drives in pink - so that they were obvious and would not be mistakenly ship.. When a neat feature was put into one drive, it was so popular that people were demanding retail versions of the "pink drives"....
*********************
Seriously - thanks for posting notice....

OK on the be carefull. All right, if you want your boat in Black, the black hull version is $990 extra. Dealers also, if you need a black hull for a special customer, it is available for you. We usually save the special color just for a test boat, to follow up on and all. So, for now, available, limited time only, not this spring for sure.

Just for everyone's info; Dennis Neal has a black hull and he would love to talk about his boat cause he has all the time in the world and absolutely nothing to do! (he bought it from Mike Inmon)

Mike, is the "Classifieds" link at the top of this page not working for you? Try this direct link:
http://www.macgregorsailors.com/photoads/newad.php
You can easily pay via PayPal, credit card, etc. at that link. Please try that now. We don't normally allow classifieds within the boards, and we usually pull such ads. Given you've said you're having difficulty I'm inclined to leave this here for a day or two, but by then you should get it on the Classifieds section, please. If you have difficulty using that link, above, then please eMail me (envelope icon link to the right of this text) and I'll get with Heath and see what's up.
Thanks.

Uh, what's the point? . . . On the water, black is anything but pretty. I sure wouldn't want to try to sell a black boat.

My friend has a black powerboat with white interior- Crownline...469 in the back...flies a big black pirate flag on the back...looks awesome, especially at 62 kts or so...
Now a sailboat...well, that's another story... I've only seen one black sailboat that I can recall, and it was a two-masted jobber that had big wood trim and a wood pulpit/bowsprit and all of that - kinda looked like a pirate ship.

If you're interested in seeing what a black hulled M looks like, go to the Blue Water Yachts website (bwyachts.com) and click on Project Boats. You'll see La Pearl Noire, which was custom built by Macgregor for Todd and Cheryl, to serve as a project boat. Todd installed a number of modifications on it, in an effort to maximize performance. Todd brought the Black Pearl to several rendezvous, and she was eyecatchingly beautiful. Todd confessed that he spent a great deal of time keeping her waxed and polished to look her best. After a couple of years, Todd sold her to someone in the Puget Sound area, I believe. He was quite particular in who he sold the boat to, given its unique appearance and performance modifications.
