I have never owned a MacGregor before. We purchased this 1996 26X boat used from a person who sells campers but really knew nothing about sail boats by his own confession. The boat appears to be in fairly good condition.
When we got it home and went to use it, we can not find the control line for the centerboard. I did find a small round dowel about 2 inches long with a short segment of about 1/8 inch nylon line broken off on it. The problem I have is I do not see from drawings or anywhere just exactly where the control line is supposed to exit the structure so you can pull on it. I see somewhere starboard side and somewhere else by the galley but I see no openings either place. We want to try to get it lifted off the trailer so I can tie a new line on tomorrow so we can use it. Can someone please private messsage me and explain where it is supposed to be! Thanks.

Re: Centerboard- Need help
Sparks,
There should be a hole on the deck, right behind the mast step. (if memory serves me)
Look at the mast support post inside the boat. This is what the centerboard line runs through. It should have an opening on the outside in the deck for the line to exit to the outside.
There should be a fairlead, right by the hole, then there is a cheek block directly to starboard, almost inline with the sliding hatch. The rope comes up through the hole in the deck, passed through the fairlead and then through the cheek block and turns towards the cockpit to near the cabin-top winch. There should be an extra cleat by that winch (on the starboard side) You'll notice the port only has one cleat near it, if none have bee added by other owners.

Oh Sparks,
I also meant to tell you...........
Hover your mouse on "resources" in the blue band above and click on manuals.
You can open the Mac 26X manual there and even print or save a copy. Centerboard info is on page 18 and page 19 has a very good drawing of the whole setup
