Just put my away for the winter in Michigan City, IN. The water level up Washington creek was 1.8 feet in some spots just south of the old bridge. Was glad my had a kick-up centerboard and kick-up rudders.
I was surprised by the low level of the water AND I don't know some of the boats with deeper draft are going to make it.
I understand water levels across Lake Michigan are much lower than usual. Certainly 1.8 feet lower at the marina than last year.

The water level at the Calumet Yacht Club located at the Indiana/Illinois border on the west shore of Lake Michigan is unprecedantly low, by as much as foot to foot and a half lower than normal lake level. Today is the deadline for removing boats from the harbor docks and there are still about 10 boats stuck in the mucky harbor. Rather than risk tearing up the prop on my 3 week old etec 60 elected to trawl 20 miles navigating around tugs and barges in 35 mph crosswinds up the Calumet River to a safer ramp. What a way to end a great summer of sailing.
It's the damn Carp they are trying to flush down the Chicago River............on Drummond Island, every foot of water level drop is another 100 feet of walking over the broken limestone..........

Sorry Cat, 48 year low equals climate, not weather
Irrespective of climate change arguments, decade and century records are set every decade and every century, respectively. I find it's nether climate nor weather, but of probability you speak
For example, what happened 48 years ago to make the levels so low? Couldn't have been global warming then...
(and just to confirm, I personally accept the current client science as "likely")
We have had incredibly low water-levels in the Montreal region. Out water comes from Lake Ontario and the Ottawa river. The St-Lawrence seaway has had a challenge to keep levels good for shipping while not drying out lakes.Hudson Yacht Club in lake of two mountains started to take boats out of the water in July!
It's hard to know what the cause is. The trend toward a drying in N.American lakes has been around a long time however. Long before we were around. Not saying we are not responsible for accelerating it though...
