Looking for a ride near Orlando

Post by tonto »

Hey all, my family and I will be flying in to Orlando, FL (from Kansas City) March 5 through March 13, and I'm wondering if there are any of you kind folks that might be willing to give a landlubber a test ride? I'll just be a passive passenger, unless you need help (I'm a novice).

I'm wanting to buy a Mac26 (currently own a ski boat, but I want a sailboat), and would like to see her closer (inside, and on the water). We have a marina here with some Mac26 on the lake we boat on, and I've seen a couple Macs, just the owners are never around.

I'd like to get my wife on board, too, so she can see what they're like. Now I don't know what kind of time-frame we're talking here, I guess we can work those details out if someone is willing to help a novice sailboater. :) I wouldn't care if it's inland, Gulf-side, or even ocean-side, either. Just want to check it out. :)

We're having a small family gathering (3 sisters and their families) down there, and I'm the boat-obsessed person, so I'm assuming none of them are interested in seeing the boat, but I don't know, so that's a variable that may get tossed in. My brother-in-law, for instance, has mentioned that I may have sold him on the idea of a Mac26, so he might want to check it out, too.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't seem like an odd request, but if anyone would be willing to help out with a short sail, that would be awesome. :)
