Did McGregor make a "tent" for the pop'up top on the Venture 23. There was a boat listed on eBay that was said to have had a factory made pop-up tent that covered the pop-up and cabin...this is a good idea.
If anyone knows where I can buy one...please send information.

I have thought of making a simple clear cover that snaps in place when the top is up. It seems like it would be easy using

I need to spend a little more time in the boat though before I decide it is something I would use. I am trying to keep things simple so I can maximize sailing time. Now if the snow and ice would melt...

I'm not sure about the 23, but I got a used factory cover for my 25 at Strictly Sail in Cincinnati (http://strictlysailinc.com/) for about $150 plus shipping. They have a pretty good sized collection of old boat odds and ends, so they might be worth sending an email to. And, yes, the pop top cover is a wonderful thing...makes the boat feel much bigger when overnighting.

I wonder if the ones from the 25 will fit the 23. There's one for sale on there right now for a 25, but it does say its for a 25 only. I got one with mine (think its called a dodger?) but haven't had a chance to use yet. Would be great to have one with screens!

Have you got access to a sewing machine? It's easy. (I learnt from YouTube! Really! Even learnt how to time the crazy thing from YouTube.) I've made all our boat cushions, repaired sails, made X-mass gifts. The list goes on. All with an old $20 Singer Stylist. Get your self an old (1970's or earlier) sturdy beast of a machine and away you go.
The pop top That came with my boat is a thinner vinyl than what I used for the cushions and looks very easy to make.
Start by taking measurements and make a paper one first. Then cut your template apart and copy it.
Done.
