Anchor light connection

Post by Chuck Healey »

I'm installing an anchor light and want to use the same type of plug that runs from the mast light to the deck. I plan to use the same deck connection since I wont be using them at the same time anyway. I purchased a 2 prong connector at West Marine which I thought was the same, but doesn't fit. Any clues as to where I might be able to find the right kind of 2 prong male adapter or part #?
Thanks

There is a great way to wire the anchor light without any additional deck connections. Elsewhere on this forum is the wiring diagram for adding 2 diodes inside the steaming light, then wiring fronm the steaming light on the mast up to the new anchor light at the top, and adding a double-pole double-throw switch in line at the fuse panel to the mast light wire after the fuse. No need to go up to the mast at all to switch them, and you wont ever have them both on at the same time.
