A new radioman in the German Coast Guard was serving on his first emergency radio watch. He somewhat understood the English language which was a job requirement. Suddenly, he heard a call on the radio from a man with a distinct English accent. "Mayday! Mayday!, I'm sinking! I'm sinking!" the Englishman cried out. The German replied, "what are you sinking about?!"

Life preservers are like sea sick medicine - if you wait to use it until you need it, it is already too late.

That only applies to those who have been in prison. I suspect Highlander must have made a new friend who just got out. Seems like all pirates end up spending some time in the clink sooner or later, but even though I can attest that mastreb is only in it for the grog - he's not one of those toenail fans like Jack Sparrow. (If you had spend as much time in the Graybar Hotel as Jack you might be painting your eyes and toenails too!)

It's not easy being green.

Anyways,
The MMSI numbers are real cool! You just select the number from your list and is automatically calls the other boat and finds a working channel for you without telling everyone on channel 16 where you are and who you are and who you are talking to and even more important - what channel you are using. (Comes in REAL handy if your not in good fashion with the authorities).

I'm not their favorite, so I try to stay low.
