Gadget...RayMarine AutoPilot users...Wireless Remote Option

Post by Matt19020 »

I sailed with a friend this weekend who introduced me to this gadget...He sails solo and enjoys sitting on the bow. He controls autopilot remotely with a key Fob. He said it was worth every bit of the $200. cost. It allows him to sit on the bow at night with a spotlight to search for crab pots and still navigate around them without heading back to helm. I figured I would share the info..some people here love all the bells and whistles!

With this converter:

You'll be able to use that device (and Raymarine's two more expensive wireless remotes) on the current Raymarine autopilots that only support SeaTalkNG/NMEA-2000. I called RayMarine tech support and verified it. According to tech support, they have an NMEA 2000 wireless remote scheduled for release in 2016.
