LOL - yeah, no kidding! And I just tore out my old deck and am about to install a new 1,200 sq ft one. Lowe's just dropped everything off. The boat is landlocked now because it can't get out until the deck material is out of the way. (I kind of did that on purpose to motivate me to finish the deck faster!) 8)
Sounds like you're a busy fellow, like me.
Building not one but two Pergolas on my patio, as we speak. One is 12' X 16', the other is 12' X 10'
Just finished the front yard, "desert landscape" (meaning lots of rocks.... big rocks) and the front yard is 65' X 249'.
Have built 300' of block wall, stuccoed and color coated to match the house with used brick cap (in the past three years).
In the same time, we poured 140' of new driveways, built seven gates (four drive throughs and three walk throughs including two automatics), stripped the bottom of the boat, made new cushions and a number of other upgrades.

We have done this all ourselves (just me and the Admiral) and would have the list about done....... if it was the list we started with. The problem is....... we keep adding to the bottom of the list. Gees, ain't retirement fun. Sometimes I think I should go get a job, so I can get some rest

This might explain why I've gotten very little sailing time the last few years.

Well one thing good about all this...... I don't need a Gym membership to get my exercise. And staying busy keeps me young. :) .

Good luck on your deck project.

Steve K.

I just finished rebuilding a 1986 Tohatsu M8A which is a discontinued motor...needed a water pump impeller...no such animal available...took one from another small outboard and used the dremel and a razor and she pees great now....

So you can do this man....buy your paint yet?

lets go sailor :D :D
Too much oil can hurt it...you really should rejet the carb if you change the oil:fuel ratio.

Stick with 50:1 and get rid of that old gas mix too. Put in your dad's Oldsmobile or lawn mower or something.

correct..too much oil is not good...I was just saying that since I usually deal with much older motors that I just measure my Ounces a TAD heavier....just a smidgen

Steve - you sound about as crazy as me! :D

Dug post holes with my two boys last weekend. Looks like a nightmare from Caddyshack! Pouring concrete and framing it in this weekend.

On the boat front, we've stained all the wood and are planning on applying the spar varnish this weekend. We bought a bottle of the aersol spar spray and it just doesn't seem to give the wood the right look. Buying a can this weekend. I've applied two coats of primer to every inch of the interior that I can reach. Hoping to apply the final white gloss coat Friday night (supposed to rain today and tomorrow).

Here's the interior ready for paint - or at least as ready as I could get it

Here's the v-berth ready for paint and with 2 layers of primer:

And I forgot to mention - I got the new windows in from Rudder Craft. So I've got that job to complete as well.

Looking good NavySailor :) I'm sure it will be great when finished. (prep work is the hardest, yet most important part  )

Pergolas are done :) :!: And I'm exhausted.
Taking a little trip to get a 150ft. roll of shade cloth tomorrow........ have lunch and see the sights

I want to mention........ When you install the new windows, do it in the shade and keep them in shade for the first 24 hours.
I hung a couple small tarps from the lifelines to a nearby wall and the edge of my shop.

Pop-Top: (this doesn't seem right... shouldn't it stand straight up and not lean aft like that?

Yup there were a couple of poles I found laying around the cabin that support the pop top. If you look inside the forward lip of your pop top and just ahead on your deck, you'll see where the bars slide in to provide support.

No.....that's not right. If you look underneath the front of the pop top, you should see what looks like two metal "clips" bolted on, and on the deck, right in front of where the pop top sits when down, you should see the same types of "clips" that will allow a flat piece of metal to slide in. In your boat somewhere, there should be two bars with flat ends bent in opposite directions on about a 45 degree angle. These two bars slide into the "clips" on the pop top and into the two "clips" on the deck to support the top. The two hinged supports should actually lean forward, and the ones on the flat end should lean back to form a kind of triangle. Look and these photos below and let me know if you have any further questions or need any other pictures. This is from a 22, but a 22 and a 25 are very similar.

Congrats on the Pergolas. I'll be doing one of those eventually too.

Thanks for the tip on the shade. Guess I'll be using that big tarp!

The only thing that worries me about the interior paint is that some of the old paint came right off and some of it was stubborn as he!! and wouldn't budge. I'm hoping the two coats of primer and the glossy white paint hid the surface imperfections well enough that it doesn't look too shoddy.

Hoping to get a coat of interior paint on tonight and then start framing my deck at 0800 tomorrow. Good news is the forecast is sunny and 80. 8)

Cheers!

So my boat came fitted with a roller furler and having only really sailed on 12-13' Sunfish boats before, I have no idea how to use it. The roller is made by Plastimo. Here's my dilemma - this is the only way I can get it to attach and I do not have any other forestay - this is it. :?

Does anyone know if I am missing a part or something? Any idea where I might be able to find a manual or where to look on it for a model number?

I appreciate any thoughts! thanks!
