Crikey - there are things you can do to make the wrap plates easier to bend where you want it to, if you are thinking of DIY'ing it. Like making it with a cut-out in the area where the bend will be. Drill 4 holes and cut out in between them. The thinner areas will give you some flexibility in playing with the bends to get what you need size-wise, and still give you some rigidity in the end. You can also grind a series of evenly-spaced grooves (just with a hand-held angle grinder), say halfway through the thickness of the material, to make the bends follow a radius (though stepped a bit).

Yeah BOAT - the Admiral is very good at making sure those rudder downhaul lines are good and secure. I would suppose that it might be easier if you were moving slowly in reverse too; the tension of the rudders against the stop would be maintained while tieing to the cleat. There are other, and better ways of securing that line. Too many ideas, too little time... :(

I have those releasing clam cleats too, I used high modulus line (HMPE, like Amsteel or Dyneema) and bought a round tuit at the same time, so mine are done. :D .

That explains it! Your rudders are installed upside down.... :D

Couldn't let that pass.....with a name on your boat like "crikey" make sure your rudders are not upside down too....easy to do, since most difficult things to do on a boat involve, banging your head, scraping your knees, crawling on your belly.....or hanging yourself upside down.........A friend told me the other day when he was bottom painting his boat, a dollup of antifoul dropped into his mouth.....he cleaned out his mouth with paint thinner.......maybe he doesn't have to brush his teeth now for two years.......... :P

I digress....."Crikey".... for our mainly American counterparts on this thread means: " An Australian exclamation of surprise or bewilderment"....
