Windex install: idea needed for holding nut inside channel

I'll bet you could stick a screw driver in that channel, deform it enough to get a wrench or needle nose in, and then tap it back to straight with metal hammer and some stock. Okay, that's pretty ghetto, but I don't think you even run the slugs up that high, do you?
