Australia does get quite cold in some parts although NOTHING compared to the NA winter. An old sailor showed me a couple of years back a very cheap way of warming the cabin. It has worked for me very very well.
Not much to explain but I have even warmed up frozen bread and crepes from the cooler on the outside of the pot as well. Note the fire-blankets are handy and I do not lea0ve it burning when not in the cabin.

Hi Kurz,
I use white spirit for fuel and usually have the hatch doorway out or the sliding cabin top partially open. I keep my Galley aft rather than forward. I have only had slight fumes when the stove is on full open. I throttle it back to about 60% and the clay just stays nice and warm and radiates heat well. I find early morning it dries the boat out rather than creates moisture. You could warm up your Pain Chocolat but I don't think you could do Raclette on it !!

In Oz we have Blue and White Methylated and I have a Blue MACM but use white Metho Spirit. Not to be confused with Surgical Spirit. I imagine White MACM owners use Blue Methylated spirits which is what probably slows them down
Seriously the Blue Methylated that I used once had a smell to it that the white doesn't. Maybe some other things that I dont know about too?
Well time to crank up the heat got up this morn to find 1 inch of snow on the ground , last yr we had about a foot of snow 10 days earlier & it stayed making for a long winter
