And use the "Preview" button to see how it looks before it goes live.

Oh, yeah. The original question.miguelanuila wrote:Does anyone know what that piece is for ?
That's a cap for the top of the mast, often called a 'chicken head'. The forestay (if a masthead rig, meaning the forestay goes to the top of the mast), the backstay, probably at least the main halyard sheave, and possibly other things like a topping lift attach to it. But I don't know what the rig looks like on that boat, so someone who owns one would have to advise as to the particulars.

Need more code to post pic...miguelanuila wrote:<iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s48.photobucket.com/user/miguela ... "></iframe>
Right click on the pic you want to post,
Left click Properties (at bottom of the task menu,
Copy the entire code of the (URL) Address,
Paste the (URL) Address in the Reply window,
Highlight (as if to copy) the (URL) Address,
Click the Img button above the Reply window
Submit
-edit (before I submit, I copy everything on the reply screen, then Preview, then submit. Do not click the back arrow between preview & submit - else you lose everything you wrote. Sometimes the submitted post gets caught in a hiccup that prevents it from posting... BTDT - which is why I copy before preview / submit - which is what Kevin calls belt whilst suspenders... or some wonky thing like that!)

Miguel
From what I can make out from your photos:
You have a Venture 21 with the most basic of rigs.
Fractional sloop, 1 fore-stay and only 2 shrouds. No back-stay required.
The only thing on your boat that holds the boom up is the mainsail when hoisted
(you can rig a topping lift to hold it up if you wish).
The chicken head that you posted probably was never on your boat.
It looks like you are getting it together! Nice!
