End of Mac Bump?

Post by Tahoe Jack »

In response to a new thread on the main page, we just posted a new mod showing our relocation/upgrade of the Mac26X trailer winch. The new position appears to cure the need for the infamous Mac Bump. Take a look. Tahoe Jack :)

New number, new price

Post by Don »

Harbor Freight has changed the part number for the winch. New number 61694-2VGA, New price $24.99. It still seems to be worth it to me. 8)
Jack can you post some more pictures of this mod. [the relief of the laddar]
Did you mount the new winch right on the channel or did you put spacers under it?

Don....re more pics....if you send me a pm with your email address, I can send several more pics. The board normally limits mods to three. Re Harbor Freight...as of today, the local store inventory still has the number I used...be sure that it has two geared discs...and three-position control...e.g. forward, reverse, neutral. It has only one effective gear, however it works off two geared discs. I attached it directly to the original strut, and per note, used one of the original winch mount holes.

Has anyone used the slippery plastic pads on the bunks [Bunk Slicks, etc] I use them on my aluminum power boat with great success.
