Mono-ski regular sled but only one ski, good for powder nothing else
. There are also conversion kits to turn a dirt bike into a small tracked single ski 'sled' kind of thing. Does well in smaller snow but no go in deep power.I' try googling dirt bike track conversion kit or something.

Re: I just can't believe it...
uh, I believe whatever you say, don't have much experience with all those different kinds of snow your talking about. For me I only see snow - when I look at the mountains from my backyard in the winter sometimes there is snow on top of those mountains - it looks like white stuff, and when i go skiing here locally in the winter all the snow looks the same - it's this white stuff that is really cold. Funny, but we rarely see it falling from the sky, we show up in the morning at the ski lift in our car and the snow is always just sitting there ready to go. I guess the snow comes at night time or when we are not there. Not sure where 'snow' comes from or when.
This year the snow did not come at all as far as I can tell, (looking at the mountains from my back yard), so I'm not even sure what it looks like this year. I can see the ocean from the front yard - the ocean is always there, I always know what it looks like. I like the ocean more than the snow - I can always depend on the ocean being there in the front yard right where it belongs, but not the snow, some winters I can't see the snow from my back yard, it's just not there - very unreliable...

Waiting in line with the boat at the car wash to wash the boat before dragging it down to the coast.

Well yeah, that's what we do over here when the windshield gets dirty between gas stations but I did not want to say anything because I did not know you guys knew about sun glasses. It's real hard to drive like that without sun glasses cuz the wind blows dust in your eyes but I guess you guys have sunglasses over there too (someone over here said you guys don't have sun glasses because there is no sun, but now I think he was telling a lie or was just ignorant). I was also told just now that you guys have windshield wipers too - that's an option on our cars over here - not everyone has windshield wipers - only the folks that live in the northern parts or in the mountains where rain falls in the daytime (it only falls at night here). You guys sure do know a lot about weather!!Tomfoolery wrote:Not at all. Ever see Ace Ventura: Pet Detective? I remember that song! I was born in California, lived here all my life. My wife too. They played that song on the radio when we were young and everyone here knows it's not true - it does rain in Southern California for three days in every February and sometimes in March and April too. It just rains at night so no one ever sees it. If you go up into the mountains you can see rain in the daytime.RussMT wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pyC7WnvLT4BOAT wrote:Well yeah, that's what we do over here when the windshield gets dirty between gas stations but I did not want to say anything because I did not know you guys knew about sun glasses. That's seems to be the problem lately. Not enough moisture in California.
I don't mind the snow, as long as it's up in the mountains. Melts all summer feeding our ag demands.
Drought in Cali looks pretty serious. I predict higher food prices soon if it doesn't start raining.

Re: I just can't believe it...
Yup, all those pictures you seeing are because of the snow. That's why I said that we will take your snow if you don't want it. I did not ask for any rain - we don't like rain here - (that's why we live here) - and it don't rain here very much in the day time so it works out just great. But, all winter long up there in them thar mountains it snows, and then the snow melts and all the water comes down the mountains in streams and rivers (there is a river here in Oceanside called the San Luis Rey river and it has water when the snow melts.) So we folks live here down below where it's warm and there is no rain, and we drink the water that comes from the mountains when the snow melts. We drink the water from the streams and rivers that go right through our towns. We really don't drink very much of the rain water that falls here in So Cal at all because it's not enough for us to drink anyways. Mostly we drink snow water.
Rain is not the issue here: It's the snow.
The snow that i usually see on top of those mountains from my backyard does not seem to be there this year. This year there will be nothing to drink this summer except beer.
This happens here about every 75 years and according to the old folks I talk to who were here back in 1941 they tell me that it usually lasts about 15 years total to get all the way back to a normal snowpack in those mountains. That means we still have 9 more years to go over here - the snow might return as soon as next year, but it will take at least 7 years of snow for the snow pack to get back to normal, so you see - we will be drinking beer for a while here. My wife grew up in the Central Valley and the old folks from up there can tell you about the "dust bowls" in the Central Valley during WW2 and again back in the 1890's - In fact the Salton Sea was a stupid mistake made by people trying to fix the drought of the 1890's - then the drought of the 1940's they did it again with water wars and Chinatown and other sinister stupid stuff. It comes around at least ones for every generation here. We will be thirsty for a while, we will want some more beer from Colorado and Milwalkee if you can spare any.
