Boat boat
In the water
Now I can be
On you a lot'er.

Mon Apr 27:
My boat now has her stick
It sticks up fair and true
You can stick your racy powerboats
I'll stick with my knots afew.

Fast macs are white,
slow ones are blue.
You might want to argue,
but you know that it's true.

Sea Fever
By John Masefield
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.

Whose keel could retract to unstuck it,RobertB wrote:There once was a boat from Nantucket........
So the skipper had found
He feared not aground
'till it broke free and he cursed like a sailor.

Re: Boat poetry
She stood so fair
In the marina air
As the wind blew past her nightly
And the fenders hung loose
Like the balls on a moose
And I said "Gosh, almighty".
I sailed her every chance I had,
And that was more than most,
Her white hull churned the Michigan sea,
As we explored the coast.

In shopping for a new Tattoo,
That only comes in size twenty two,
to get your fix,
on a new twenty six,
you'll have to be owner number two!
Speaking of the new smaller Tattoo,
In the fight over white versus blue,
when Roger was floatin'
the best boats for boatin'
you could choose more colors than two!
The new boats being pulled from the mold,
That all consider very bold,
that you all must have known,
the twenty two I own,
is really, really quite old.
The argument between blue and white,
is a discussion really quite trite,
and one must know,
that go fast or go slow,
is not the color, it's the stripe!
<OK.....so the next one is off color....if easily offended, don't read DON'T READ! I warned you!>
A lad and an old maid on a Venture,
She grinned as she pulled out her denture,
In the afternoon breeze,
got down on her knees,
And this is the line we must censor!
