It sounds like everyone's found out where to put the charger, my question now is;
what do you mount the charger to?
With our boats being so bare-builged and nothing but fibreglass, have you mounted the charger to a piece of wood and then in the bilge? Etc?

I mounted to the inboard fiberglass wall. You can see screw heads from inside the cabin

One reason to mount where it can be seen is the ability to see the status lights. Plus, I am never a fan of mounting a high power device where airflow is limited. Yeah, plus in my case I had no room left inside the seat storage area (11 gallon water tank, through hull for the washdown system, two pumps (fresh and wash), and wiring terminal bars (mostly ground bars). Finally, in my case that area seems always to be the most likely to be wet.

Yep, it's waterproof.RobertB wrote:Is you battery charger waterproof? I could not mount in that area since mine is not.frede wrote:I was thinking of mounting my Guest dual battery charger on top of the battery cover under the ladder. I like that I can see it’s status at a glance and that’s where it been laying since I got the boat (time to make it permanent.) I was also thinking of flush mounting an A-B switch to the front of the cover, that way all the cables to the batteries are easily routed.
