Re: Solar panel and TV setup
I was going to mount a TV in my
using a similar mount type, so I could swing it out to be visible in the cockpit. It would have to be mounted to the forward bulkhead of the head, which of course, makes it quite a different situation. I even have an old UFO-type antenna that was mounted to the mast when I got the boat.
One of these days.

I've been looking really hard at a 12v dvd led tv like the ones long haul truckers use and mounting like comment or above.
Wouldn't have to worry about an inverter when not on shore power.

People use their boats in all kinds of ways. I've discovered many use them as floating vacation homes.
We have never slept on a boat tied to a dock. However many do and a TV makes sense for that if you are stuck on a rainy day or something.
What we have done a couple of times is watch a downloaded show or movie on an iPad. Perfect and portable. Do this for long flights as well.
I once believed in fixed mounted stuffs. Now I have a bluetooth adapter plugged into my boat's stereo and we stream music via our cell phone. I love living portable.
