Plans and life

Post by ris »

We had planned a 2 week shakedown cruise for the weeks preceding and following Christmas. Did not get the boat ready in time so we thought we will work on the boat Christmas week and cruise New years week. Woke up Christmas day feeling kind of bloated, got worse and by Dec. 28th they removed my gallbladder. Need about 3 more days to finish the boat, 3 months to finish work before starting the loop. So now we are on hold for 2 weeks, no working on the boat or earning money. Make plans and then you have to go with what life hands you. Happy Holidays to all of you. All you guys doing trips please post so we folks at home can at least read about someone going somewhere.

Oh, wow, that seriously sucks. I'm sorry you're in rough shape, but I hope you're back in good shape very soon. As much as a PITA as your health issue is, at least it's treatable and thankfully most folks get through it just fine without any serious life changes. Rest, make plans and keep dreaming of the fair winds!

Wow, sorry to hear that but glad you are ok and home. Sounds like a set-back but not a game changer. Keep moving forward and you will be on the 'loop' before you know it,

Wow Ris...

We're all cheering for you.

They say: "You wanna make God laugh - tell him what you're gonna do tomorrow". - I don't think he's a cynic or to blame;
But setbacks & reschedules are big cards in our game, & sober us to cherish the good times.

We're rooting for you to play on, in due time-

at your call :)

Look at it this way - if things had gone as you planned, you would have been in the middle of your cruise when you fell ill. It may have been much more dramatic and dangerous. God does know what He is doing, even if we don't.

One of the rules I live by: "Make your plans in pencil, and remember that God has an eraser".

Get well and back on the water soon.

Glad you are on the road to recovery. It used to really bother me with strange things caused major changes in my plans. Now I just take the approach that there is a reason for all things. Praying for continued recovery.
