Morning!
A short but powerful storm hit Western Lake Ontario yesterday afternoon and a few boats capsized. I know 4 of them were small catamarans and not sure about the other 3. I was wondering if there were any Macs out there yesterday and what the experience was like.

Pretty stupid that they were out there IMO - the storm was forecast days ahead of time and hit exactly when predicted. Outdoor music festivals here and in NY were cancelled/postponed during the storm.

Re: Yesterday 7 boats capsize on Lake Ontario
I was doing some work on the boat, tied to the dock, in the marina, at the sheltered and calm end of the bay. I saw the warnings, and there was no way I was going out for some fun in the sun (no sun, and too much 'fun' in those conditions). It didn't get all that bad where I was, but that's a good distance from where the nasty squalls were at the west end of the Lake.
I didn't think to listen to the weather radio station on the VHF, though. But being that they were putting the alerts on TV, I would assume it was on the VHF too.
I'm just glad everyone is ok. Wind events never sound that bad ("I can handle it!") until you're in them and getting beat up ("Lord, I swear if I get out of this alive . . . ").
