I bought a 2013

that was never used. The jib was still in the bag, but the roller furler was with the boat, and had a thick halyard run through it. This issue I am having is the halyard does not seem right. It is too thick to run through the track. In fact, I do not see where it is supposed to come out the bottom of the track forced it almost all the way up, but it is still 6 inches from the top and now it is coming out of the track at the bottom (tack).
I plan on leaving it "on the tack" so I do not mind working it in, but it just seems wrong. Should I hoist it before stepping the mast without a halyard and simply secure it at the head??
Thanks!
