I have used the Pulpit for several years and it works great. Of course when you are anchored you must tie the rode directly from the anchor to a cleat. When trailering I keep the roller in the anchor locker and the anchor in the truck. I guess I could still use the longer bolt and keep the anchor attached to the pulpit. With our new M, even though it has the anchor roller, I may still use the same system. Still not sure.

Anchors
I use three kinds of anchors. The main and biggest anchor is the Danforth....does pull a bit in a gravel bottom.....I have the Navy, doesn't really "hook" in sand.....and I have a four prong Hook to deploy, which snags everything, but wont dig. For a pleasant sleep or a day jet skiing from the boat, I deploy all three, call me nuts, but why the H$%% not?

If it's important to you, get that FX-7 from a place that's willing to take it back if it doesn't fit the locker. I think others have reported it's too long.
The Guardian G-11 works great in my experience, and does fit fully into the locker (it's the AU six-pounder), and it's a bunch less money!
Ooops .... standing corrected.
Thx, Moe/Tom

Frank, it's the FX-11 that people have found won't fit in the X locker. It's larger than our Guardian G-11, which just barely fits, lengthwise, with the mud palms touching the aft side and the top of the shank touching the forward side of the locker. I need to put something on these to prevent the fiberglass from getting gouged.
The G-11 is also so long that our Windline URM-2 bow roller will have to be mounted well forward for the top of the shank to clear the anchor locker lid and keep the tips of the flukes off the boat.
Compared to the G-11, the FX-7 has a 1" shorter shank, 1" shorter fluke length, and 1" narrower stock (not a limitation in the locker), and so should fit the X locker better than the G-11.
